Volunteer to help educate children on passenger safety. Participants will volunteer to participate in Ollie Otter presentations, interacting with elementary school children to promote child passenger safety. Opportunities for Service Learning hours/credit may be available depending on your high school’s required curriculum. The Ollie Otter Booster Seat and Seat Belt program is grant-funded through the Tennessee Highway Safety Office (THSO). The THSO has been integral in the inception and continued success of the Ollie Otter program.
It is easy to get set up. Display to a large screen and enter into presentation mode. See slide 2 for rules and setup. This game can also be played virtually either by limiting the number of students in one classroom or for at-home learning. Click here to access the game.
The game can be played in person in a classroom or virtually.
How to play through video conferencing with students at home:
1. Set up a zoom or video conferencing call.
2. Share your screen
3. Players buzz by using the hand raise feature or by entering their answer in the chat.
4. If playing in groups you can give the teams an allotted amount of time to answer.
Have a photo or screenshots ready with students completing the activity and click Submit Points. This activity can be submitted up to 5 times per school.
