In a spirit of collaboration and community impact, we recently hosted a special “Invite a School” Safe Driving and DUI Impairment Awareness Event, welcoming students from Cleveland High School to join our campus for a day centered on the message that choices behind the wheel matter.
This unique event brought students from both schools together to engage in powerful demonstrations and activities that highlighted the dangers of impaired and distracted driving. One of the highlights of the day was a halftime challenge held in front of a packed gym of fans from both schools. Selected students took on the task of dribbling a basketball, shooting a layup, and a free throw—all while wearing drunk goggles that simulated the effects of alcohol impairment. The result? A fun, eye-opening moment that drove home a serious message.
Throughout the event, students also participated in Field sobriety tests guided by law enforcement officers and volunteer opportunities at The 24/7 Movement’s awareness and education booth, where they helped spread the message of responsible decision-making
This cross-campus initiative wasn’t just about raising awareness—it was about uniting students, building peer leadership, and reinforcing that when it comes to driving, the right choice is always the safe choice.
