We partnered with The 24/7 Movement to set up several impairment awareness stations at our school, highlighting the dangers of impaired and distracted driving.
One of the featured activities was the Connect 4 Memory Challenge, where two participants competed to be the first to connect four discs in a row—vertically, horizontally, or diagonally. However, one participant wore the Fatal Vision Marijuana/THC Goggles, which simulated the effects of THC impairment, including short-term memory loss and difficulty with problem-solving. This side-by-side comparison demonstrated how even simple tasks become significantly harder under the influence.
At the conclusion of the game, team members from The 24/7 Movement engaged each student in a discussion about their experience and the real-world consequences of driving impaired or distracted.
