DUI Impairment Safe Driving Course/Program for Seniors

Project Description

Students from the Criminal Justice Class that went through the DUI Awareness Safe Driving Program back in September assisted in the planning and implementation of this program for the entire school. Our Senior Class went through a DUI Impairment Safe Driving Course in the parking lot next to the Football stadium. Students took turns driving a UTV Side by Side without Goggles and then with Fatal Vision Goggles. The event lasted most of the school day as classes would rotate through the course. The school’s SRO officers and deputies from the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office facilitated the driving course. The 24/7 Movement assisted with the day. 50 Students completed the Safe Driving Pledge and The I Will Not Be Silent Promise w/The 24/7 Movement. Other DUI impairment simulation stations were visited by students from other classes and was located in a high visibility area next to the cafeteria. Criminal Justice students assisted at several of the stations.
