Project Description

Our school participated in a Safe Driving Campaign with The 24/7 Movement called, “Friday Night Lights” during the home football on Oct. 25 vs. Pure Academy HS. The cheerleaders tossed out free positive messaging t-shirts saying, “Choices Matter – Buckle Up – Phone Down – Drive Sober” while the Stadium Announcer read the following statement to a couple thousand in attendance, “On behalf of The 24/7 Movement, Walker Valley HS Administration, and to honor the memory of Dustin & Brittany Dillard who lost their lives on Christmas Day when a drunk driver crashed into their SUV, we want to remind everyone tonight on your way home and every night and day to follow that: “Choices Matter – Buckle Up – Phone Down – Drive Sober” As part of The 24/7 Movement’s Safe Driving T-shirt Campaign the Cheerleaders will now be tossing out free positive messaging t-shirts in WVHS colors to the home crowd. “Join The Movement & Drive Safe” The announcement and t-shirts were very well received by students and all in attendance.
