Our school, along with students, our SRO, and the East Ridge Police Department, helped plan and participate in a live Mock Crash event for all juniors and seniors just days before Prom. This impactful educational experience was designed to raise awareness about the dangers of drunk, drugged, and distracted driving. The event was a collaborative effort between East Ridge High School drama students, the East Ridge Police Department, and Fire/Rescue first responders from East Ridge and Chattanooga. Through a realistic crash scene, the project aimed to reduce crashes, injuries, and fatalities among young drivers by powerfully illustrating the real-life consequences of impaired driving. Our students did an outstanding job portraying their roles during the dramatized mock crash. This was a great lead-up to Prom.
