Safe Tonight, Memories For A Lifetime

Project Description

The “Safe Tonight, Memories for a Lifetime” initiative was a collaborative effort among Bradley Central High School, other area high schools, law enforcement, The 24/7 Movement, ATS The Bridge, MIX 104.1 Radio/TV, and local media outlets. The campaign aimed to promote safe and memorable Prom and Graduation celebrations by encouraging students and parents to plan ahead—highlighting the dangers of impaired and distracted driving, underage drinking, and drug use. As part of the initiative, our students met three times with students from two other high schools to help plan and shape the campaign, ensuring the message would be meaningful and relatable to their peers. Interview segments aired during morning and afternoon shows featured students, as well as key influencers in their lives—teachers, principals, coaches, parents, and pastors. The initiative also included a panel discussion with law enforcement officers, judicial and community leaders, and two local families who shared their stories after losing loved ones at the hands of a drunk or drugged driver. Additionally, our HS is actively implementing on-campus activities leading up to Prom to reinforce responsible decision-making and promote safe driving.
