Walk The Line Field Sobriety Test

Project Description

East Ridge High School Juniors and Seniors participated in a “Walk the Line” field sobriety test while wearing drunk goggles, administered by East Ridge Police Officers. The goggles simulated the visual impairment caused by alcohol, allowing students to experience firsthand how drinking blurs vision and can affect coordination and balance. Officers explained the blood alcohol levels represented by each set of goggles and discussed how impairment impacts a person’s ability to drive safely. Students were also reminded of Tennessee’s Zero Tolerance Law for underage drinking and the serious consequences that come with violating it.
