Fatal Vision Goggles by Innocorp

Description

Volunteer to help educate children on passenger safety. Participants will volunteer to participate in Ollie Otter presentations, interacting with elementary school children to promote child passenger safety. Opportunities for Service Learning hours/credit may be available depending on your high school’s required curriculum. The Ollie Otter Booster Seat and Seat Belt program is grant-funded through the Tennessee Highway Safety Office (THSO). The THSO has been integral in the inception and continued success of the Ollie Otter program.

 

Sign Up:

Visit TNTrafficSafety.org and click on order resources to request Goggles. Or email info@reducetncrashes.org to order. Goggles can be borrowed for a two-week period. Visit fatalvision.com to see all products.

Complete:

Request Goggles visit TNTrafficSafety.org. Once the Goggles arrive, take a photo of students completing the activity. (Ex: students posing next to/under the paper or snapshot of the post).

Activity suggestions: Set up cones or place tape on the floor for students to attempt to walk. Have the students put on the Goggles and complete the course. Encourage the students to talk about how the Goggles made them walk or their classmates interact with their surroundings. Talk about the levels listed on the Goggles and how impairment impacts your abilities. Remind students of the Zero Tolerance Law for under age drinking.

Submit Points:

Have a photo or screenshots ready with students completing the activity and click “Submit Points.” This activity can be submitted up to 10 times per school.
