Wearing seat belts can reduce risk of fatal injury in a crash by 45% – NHTSA.
The Quick-Click Challenge, one of the SADD Rock the Belt activities, is a high-energy, team competition that demonstrates how little time it takes to fasten a seat belt. Teams can be made up of 1, 2, or 4 members.
You’ll need: a four-door vehicle, whistle, stopwatch, and a quick-click crew to record penalties and time.
The Quick Click challenge is a fun interactive activity that demonstrates just how easy and quick it is to buckle up your seat belt every time, every drive.
You will need a team of 1, 2, or 4 students to do the challenge and a team of at least 2 that can be the Quick-Click Crew. The Crew will be in charge of the stopwatch, checking that all the students have been buckled and hands in the air, and for blowing the whistle each time the students need to rotate.
Lastly, you will need a parked vehicle with four doors in the parking lot. The vehicle must be parked and keys NOT in the ignition to complete this activity.
Try to be the fastest and safest team in the Quick Click Challenge! Have your team take a pic inside the vehicle buckled up and holding up your hands! In the activity description, let us know how your team did and your finished time. Remember the vehicle must be parked and turned off, no activities will be accepted with a moving or operating vehicle. This activity can be completed 10 times per school year.
